Monterey, California: Ggrrriffin G. Ggrrrinch, a shaggy eight-foot tall creature who lives in a cave in the cliffs of Big Sur, is coming to Monterey this evening, Monday April 15th, 2002, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the main Monterey Post Office on Hartnell.
He will distribute copies of his "Open Letter to George W. Bush", in which he proposes the decentralization of these United States of America.
Decentralization is the distribution of powers away from a centralized government, returning decision-making to the individual, and to regional or local governments.
Mr. Ggrrrinch likes the idea of making federal taxes voluntary. He has chosen April 15th, the conventional time when libertarians and others come together to protest taxes, to promote the idea that we would all be better off if our beloved country were in the form of 50 free and independent states.
